The Beneteau Flyer 6 makes full use of the boat's beam to maximise deck space.

BENETEAU FLYER 6

First launched at the Paris Boat Show, three new 6m designs from French manufacturer Beneteau look set to make an impression on the Aussie market where their versatile layouts are sure to find fans.

The Flyer 6 range was developed by Beneteau to meet the needs of the thriving ‘dayboat’ market sector in Europe and thoughtful use of space within the distinctive Beneteau hulls should allow the boats to lend themselves to a variety of uses.

The Flyer 6 SUNdeck utilises the boat’s entire beam in its design to maximise the available area up forward which features a full-width double sunbed and this model is best suited to extended periods of serious relaxation.

A transom seat and two pedestal helm seats provide comfort behind a small windscreen and the front sunning area can be accessed via both sides.

The designers have even cleverly shoehorned a marine toilet into the design and needless to say, there’s also plenty of storage.

The Flyer 6 SPACEdeck also counts a small marine toilet among its impressive list of features, plus a windlass, in a much more open design and the aft cockpit offers a fold-down seat.

At the open bow there is further seating and the entire layout can be arranged a number of ways around the central console.

Lastly, the SPORTdeck model takes inspiration from American bowriders, with a walkthrough windscreen providing access to the bow from the twin helm seats with side controls.

This model can also be fitted with an optional forward-swept waketower.

All three new Beneteau models feature a new ‘Air Step’ hull which is designed to provide greater grip when tracking through turns at speed.

Thorough testing in all sea conditions confirmed the new hull shape provides strong acceleration and good stability, plus comfort at the helm, even while reaching speeds up to 40kts.
