Adler Suprema X

New Boat: Adler Suprema X

Not content with just cutting-edge design, European builder Adler is offering its latest superyacht with a hybrid propulsion option.

The 25m Adler Suprema X is due to be launched next year and owners will have the choice of diesel-electric or conventional engine systems on their carbon/Kevlar flagship.

Pushing a vote of confidence in its product, Adler Yachts is also building this first hull on spec, building on the enthusiastic response to its first Suprema yacht series (launched 2016).

Construction of the new Adler Suprema X is underway at the Alto Adriatico shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, and will again feature dynamic styling by designer Nuvolari Lenard.

The Suprema X further gains 2m in length over its predecessor and will be offered in a choice of hardtop with sun window, open T-top, or enclosed sky lounge on the flybridge level.

Lower deck guest accommodation comprises two ensuite guest cabins, a forward VIP suite and further aft, a full-beam owner’s stateroom with its own private access.

The open-plan main deck offers a spacious saloon, dining for up to eight guests, galley, day head, separate wheelhouse and, wait for it … a jacuzzi on the foredeck.

Upstairs, Adler proposes that the flexible flybridge layout will provide owners with a range of options that will best suit their intended use of the yacht.

While the T-top with sunsails or the hardtop version can provide enjoyable exposure to the sunshine and sea breeze, owners in cooler regions might prefer the enclosed sky lounge version with just a single helm station uptstairs.

This further lends itself to an option for removing the main deck wheelhouse, which equals more open space for guests down below in the saloon.

In a nod to the quality of emerging technologies, Adler will offer the Suprema X with a propulsion option comprising two electric motors and generators (E-Units), two Caterpillar C18 engines and battery banks of 170kW.

This package is being referred to as the Hybrid Marine Solution (HMS) and should appeal to yacht owners who are aiming to minimise the carbon footprint of their luxury yacht.

While running on the twin CATs, the Adler can reach a top speed of 30kts.

But in full-electric mode, this revolutionary yacht will still be able to cruise at 10kts – but without exhaust fumes, vibration or noise.

Adler hopes this aspect prove ideal for sedate island hopping, cruising protected waters or enjoying the generous beach platform and cockpit even, while underway.
