2015 Video Review: Malibu Wakesetter VLX 22

“The Malibu Wakesetter VLX 22 for 2015 was redesigned from the water up,” says Malibu Boats marketing manager, David Thorpe. “With the huge popularity that the Malibu VLX has had in Australia over all the years, we just keep re-inventing, pushing the envelope for riders and skiers to find that perfect wake,” he says.

Being a refreshed model, the 2015 Malibu Wakesetter VLX 22 is loaded with new features.

One item that immediately comes to mind is a new 12-in electronics display on the dash. “It’s pure touch and display,” says David Thorpe. “You can control everything from your ballast to your pre-sets to your media,” he says. “You have the VDC control knob here for volume, to operate the Surf Gate, and you’ve got a nice phone holder,” he says, referring to the upgraded dash layout.

Another change on the 2015 Malibu Wakesetter is the inclusion of reverse-facing seating, a popular choice on wakeboats. This change complements the new G3.2 Tower. It’s made with new easy clips that greatly simplify storage in a garage.

Yet another improvement is the new Malibu Power Wedge II. 20 per cent bigger than the previous Malibu Power Wedge, it also has upward lift to get the Wakesetter on the plane faster. This means more time spent riding behind the boat.

“The boat has lots of items that just make your day out on the water simpler, not only as a family boat, but also for the hardcore board riding family,” says David Thorpe.
