The original Haines Hunter 680SL was introduced amid times of economic turmoil and its success surprised the entire market. Its later versions — the Haines Hunter Encore and then the Patriot — have only improved on an already terrific package.
This big 7m walkaround hull has won the hearts of trailerboat devotees around the country. It’s an ideal cruising boat that’s perfect for overnighting owing to the fact that it’s fitted with a head, galley and accommodation.
Haines Hunter calls the Patriot a “Blue Water Warrior”, as it boasts an impressive internal layout, excellent seakeeping abilities and a huge 350lt fuel tank — the latter feeding a single or twin combination powerplant up to 300hp. The walkaround layout affords excellent access to the entire boat, and the deep, selfdraining cockpit makes an ideal work area. The rear platform and walkway completes what is a functional, attractive and extremely versatile deep-vee machine.
The Haines Hunter 680 Patriot shows just how far we have come in the history of Haines Hunter — the original 635 seems primitive when compared to the layout and functionality provided by these new Haines Hunter boats.
