Spotlight - Lewis Eclipse
Lewis is an Australian family owned company that’s been producing boats since the 1930s. Today, its NSW-based manufacturing facility turns out some cutting-edge watersports machines.
The Eclipse is said to be perfect for tournament skiing, wakeboarding or just social boating, making it an ideal crossover craft that straddles both the competition and recreational spheres. The boat fuses some of the best attributes of a classic mid-mount skiboat with a wakeboarding tower and a front bowrider section. So there’s bound to be something in it for everyone, regardless of whether you’re tearing up the water or just relaxing with family or friends.
Powering the Eclipse is a MerCruiser 350 Towsport mid-mount engine. It’s fitted with a forward-neutral-reverse transmission and comes with a 110lt fuel capacity. With 315hp on tap, this fuel-injected inboard is sure to inject some excitement into a day, whether you’re behind the boat or behind the wheel.
The Eclipse measures 6.45m long and 2.3m wide, and it has a seating capacity of up to eight people. It has plenty of room to move, and there’s no shortage of creature comforts either. Features include a CD stereo (with four cockpit speakers and two tower speakers), a removable carpeted fibreglass boarding platform, drinkholders, a cooler-box under the rear lounge, a deluxe bucket seat with adjustable slide, a 12V power outlet, Star Gazer Wake Edition electronic GPS speed-control, tilt-adjustable steering, and more.
The Eclipse tips the scales at 1400kg, or 1900kg with its Easytow tandem trailer (with disc brakes and LED tail-lights).
