Spotlight: 2019 Tankoa S701 Super Yacht
NEW BOAT SPOTLIGHT: TANKOA S701
Named Solo, the S701 has been designed by Francesco Paszkowski and features lines and styling reminiscent of its 2015 sister Suerte. Though only three metres longer it boasts an additional 200 gross tonnes of interior space — partly aided by a move to underwater exhausts — while its longer waterline delivers a higher top speed of 17.5kt.
“Overall, the most amazing factor between his previous yacht, Suerte and the new one, Solo, is the countless number of technical details that have been improved,” said Tankoa Marketing Director and board member Michel Karsenti.
Comparatively, Solo features a bigger winter garden, a larger aft deck with 6-metre transversal pool, glass bulwark sections and a wide-body upper deck that allows for an oversized panoramic saloon.
Tankoa’s latest offering has accommodations for 12 guests in six cabins: a master suite on the private owner’s deck, a VIP suite, two doubles and two twins. Meanwhile, the hairdressing and/or massage room features a bathroom too, creating the option of yet another cabin.
The fully private owner’s deck gives high-flyers direct access from the touch-and-go helideck, and it is also equipped with its own Jacuzzi, bar, saloon, breakfast corner and day head with shower.
Meanwhile, the upper deck features the wheelhouse with radio room, captain’s cabin, the aforementioned massage room and a large saloon crowned by floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as luxury additions such as a 90-inch 4K TV, a baby grand piano, bar and fireplace.
The opulence continues within a spacious beach club that features, among other things, a glass-walled gym, a hammam, a fold-out terrace and a sauna — which itself has a fold-out terrace of its own.
Propelled by a pair of 2,480hp Caterpillar engines, Solo has a mammoth fuel capacity of 162,000L, resulting in an estimated range of 6,000nm when cruising at 12.5kt.
