Monte Carlo Yachts, the Italian luxury marque which forms part of Groupe Bénéteau, has announced the launch of a new MCY 86 flagship.

The 86-footer is the fourth motoryacht in the luxury marque and makes its official world debut at the Cannes Boat Show in September.

The whole range – including the 65, 70 and 76 – is penned by Venetian superyacht design house Nuvolari and Lenard, and according to MCY the two designers have reached a new high with this project.

“The new MCY 86 takes the yard’s product range to a new level: a larger, more spacious and more exquisite yacht which meets the needs of boat lovers who want to enjoy every instant onboard to the maximum,” says MCY. “Contemporary refinement which does not give into minimalism, Nuvolari and Lenard have designed a classically-styled boat without compromising to retro tastes or irritating aerodynamic excesses.”

Monte Carlo Yachts said the new 86 follows its original concept of luxury, by incorporating the best of French-Italian cultural interchange of technology and engineering and design and fashion.

Notable and in keeping with the brand’s philosophy is the high degree of stylish customisation, with contributions by some big names in fashion: the living areas embellished by fabrics and material from Hermès, Armani, Frau and Pierre Frey. Adding to the finery is a choice of stunning materials, such as white Volterra alabaster, cedarstone marble and mocha cream limestone, as well as the use of Venetian mosaics hand-made in Murano glass.

Made-to-measure luxury customisation means different configurations are available, each owner able to personalise the yacht to fit their own lifestyle.

The layout options extend to all three decks, with three, four or five below-deck cabins, and different configurations of the main deck cabin areas. The emphasis in the saloon is on space, natural light and sea views. The overall layout designed to cater for conversation, entertainment, relaxation or dinners with guests alike. Another new aspect on the MCY 86 is the opening side platforms. MCY said they can be transformed into exclusive terraces overlooking the sea, providing unobstructed views of the horizon and from inside the MCY 86 yacht too.

The master cabin, meanwhile, is a full-beam suite with office and large walk-in cupboard. There is also a separation between guests and crew: the latter can work, live, cook and operate the motoryacht in professional conditions.

Back outside, steel and glass fashion plates extending from the flybridge overhang to the gunwale each side of the rear saloon bulkhead, increase the feeling of privacy in the cockpit. Going forward, a Portuguese bridge leads to an outdoor entertaining area that is as private as it is open, featuring large sun lounges, comfortable sofas and a table for alfresco dining.

The open flybridge can be fitted with a large Jacuzzi, while the wetbar, galley and numerous sunbathing and living areas can be protected with a carbon fibre T-top frame with electrically-operated opening soft-top.
