2016 Riviera Festival Of Boating

With a greater focus on broadening the knowledge and skills of motor yacht owners, Riviera’s 2016 educational program is said to be the Riviera Festival’s most expansive ever, with more than 110 workshops over four days.

Many of the popular workshops have been fully refreshed, providing more in-depth training in specific areas of nautical interest.

“The Riviera Festival of Boating is open to all luxury motor yacht owners and aspiring owners,” said Riviera’s owner and chairman Rodney Longhurst. “It doesn’t matter if you’re new to luxury motor yacht ownership or have been enjoying it all your life, even the most experienced offshore skippers will discover something new. But places are limited, so we are urging visitors to book now to avoid disappointment.”

The Riviera Festival of Boating – coinciding with the Gold Coast International Marine Expo from 19-22 May 2016 – draws owners from around Australia and the world and aims to help them stretch their sea legs and enjoy more of the rich and rewarding benefits of the luxury life afloat.

This year there will be courses to suit all levels of seamanship and boating knowledge presented by nautical trainers with a wealth of wisdom and experience.

Workshops will include Offshore Seamanship, Weather Fundamentals and Advanced Forecasting, as well as a range of maintenance programs from Understanding Desalination to The Science of Anti-Fouling.

The Systems Programs reflect the spread of technology, with workshops to help you extract the benefits of modern electronics systems on board a luxury cruiser.

Navigation and safety gain special focus this year, with a wide variety of subjects from Traditional Navigation to Understanding Electronic Navigation with Raymarine, running alongside Fire Training & Emergency Planning, First Aid Essentials, Safe Towing and more.

Meanwhile, as part of the Gold Coast Marine Expo, Riviera will be showcasing its range, including the 575 SUV world premiere, the 5400 Sport Yacht, and the 57 Enclosed Flybridge. Registration.
