Expect to see a lot more than just boat exhibitions at the 2015 Mandurah Boat Show.

2015 Mandurah Boat Show

Mandurah Boat Show director Peter Woods confirmed a new Fishing Forum stage would be introduced, plus a fun zone for kids that will keep the whole family entertained.

The Fishing Forum will feature different presenters and topics, with hands-on demonstrations, tips, and advice in an interactive and informal stage area. Speakers include Scott Coghlan (Western Angler), Mike Roennfeldt (The West Australian), representatives from Recfishwest and the Department of Fisheries.

Mandurah Boat Show ambassador Paul Worsteling will be on hand to relate a few passionate tales from his years chasing prize fish for the TV cameras.

The Engel Aquatank Fishing Stage will move this year to outside the main marquee, where showgoers can meet members from the Next Generation Fishing Team – a group of teenage anglers from across the state who have a passion for fishing. Other guests at the show include former Olympian Emma George, and celebrity chef Bart Beek.

Down on the water, the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club (MOFSC) will present its Tackers junior sailing program. Mikael Lundh of MOFSC said Tackers is an introductory sailing program for 7-12 year olds, and is fun, safe, and affordable. “Kids don’t need to have any sailing experience or club membership to participate, and all the equipment, including the boats, is provided,” he said.

The 2015 Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show runs from October 9-11 at Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club.
