AWARDS - Beneteau Oceanis 45 wins a European Yacht of the Year award

French giant Beneteau has collected a European Yacht of the Year award for its new Oceanis 45 cruiser at the recent Dusseldorf International Boat Show (aka boot Dusseldorf) in Germany.

Shown for the first time at the Cannes Boat Show last September, the Oceanis 45 was one of five boats vying for the Family Cruiser category.

Beneteau said the title is “highly coveted” and regarded as the "Oscar of the sailing industry". The title is judged by journalists representing 11 European sailing magazines.

The 45, along with a 41 and 48, were launched late last year replacing the Oceanis 40, 43, and 46. Beneteau said the Oceanis 45 is designed to adapt to different sailing profiles, as a family coastal cruiser, to extended long-range sailing to liveaboard. The model comes in four versions with adapted layouts e.g. number of cabins and heads, modular saloon, galley equipment, stowage capacity, and more.
