2009 Clipper Round the World Race

Spirit of Australia, complete with the Aussie crew and iconic image of the boxing kangaroo emblazoned on her hull, is competing against nine identical, stripped down 68-foot racing yachts in the gruelling 35,000nm Clipper 09-10 Round the World Yacht Race starting on the Humber on the east coast of England on September 13. The Fremantle Sailing Club will once again host the fleet in December before the crews eventually make it back to England in mid-July. Berths for the Clipper 09-10 Round the World Yacht Race have sold out, but anyone who would like to sign up for Clipper 11-12 can now register their interest. Here’s a promo tape from the organisers.
