Relax in the Skylounge

Paving the way for an entire range, this new Monte Carlo is a home-away-from-home

Long gone are the days when sea-going travel equalled roughing it, where beds were barely tolerable, and interiors were sparse and whitewashed. Nowadays, it’s possible to have the creature comforts of home and cutting-edge technology all wrapped up in an elegant bow.

Designed and crafted with customer interests in mind, the MCY 70 Skylounge offers new levels of customisation and comfort, while adhering to Monte Carlo Yachts’ signature timeless elegance and ocean views. In a first for the company and for an Italian-crafted yacht, a key feature is the wide customisable flybridge.

“We were inspired by the idea of creating a yacht for all seasons,” said Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard of Nuvolari & Lenard, the Italian design company that handled the styling of the MCY70.

“The new MCY70 Skylounge was designed with all the possible comforts to be a home-away-from-home enjoyable throughout the year, and one that offers the owner a peaceful place to be shared with family and friends, a place for those that enjoy cruising and are looking to escape for unique and exclusive moments.”

The sleek exterior lines nod toward safe and comfortable cruising for those on board, keeping in line with MCY’s wider collection. This is also seen in the wide windows and large portholes, which combine to flood the interior with natural light.

Exterior living spaces include a wide bow lounge area with sunpads and a dining area aft of the cockpit.

The spacious enclosed flybridge meanwhile is a large versatile entertainment area that can be enjoyed in every season. As well as housing the helm station, fully equipped with the latest technology, the flybridge features a lounge and a unique view of the horizon available internally and externally thanks to the aft terrace.

A glass staircase connects the flybridge to the main — highly customisable — saloon. A combination of comfortable lounges, fully equipped galley, elegant dining location plus potential al fresco dining location can make up the main saloon. Ivory metallic and charcoal grey lacquered wood panels, glass surfaces and white marble imbue the space with elegance and are seen throughout the boat.

Up to eight guests can be accommodated in a spacious VIP cabin and two guest cabins, while the owner cabin has a higher degree of privacy thanks to a private staircase.

With two MAN V8 engines to get you where you want to go, and the enclosed bridge ensuring it can be done in any weather, the Skylounge range is definitely set to be a home-away-from-home whenever you choose to set off.
