Spotlight: AMM Halo 7000 Fishing

Say 'Halo' To My Little Friend

Now that the festive season is behind us it’s time to relax into the languid embrace of summer, start tickling the reel and battling the beasts of the ocean. Be it loading the tinny with sandwiches or snacking on foie gras as the deckhand baits your line, there are plenty of ways to enjoy a day on the water chasing deepwater delights – but if you’re lucky the soundtrack of summer will be the purr of the outboard on a fully loaded centre console AMM 7000 Halo.

This seven-metre offshore vessel is the next step in Australian Master Marine's ongoing commitment to comfort, convenience and style. It's built on top of the same tried and tested hull as their Tournament and Weekender models, but has been tweaked to offer a cavernous downstairs storage area. External finishing with an unusual satin black two pack gives the boat a striking appearance, to say the least.

The real show-stopping feature is the newly designed cantilever-styled hardtop that protrudes in such a way as to eliminate the need for struts alongside, which means fewer obstacles when moving around the boat and less weight up high for greater stability. The black windscreen frame makes it appear as though the white hardtop is floating aloft, giving the boat its angelic moniker due to its halo-esque look.

Down below there's a large storage area, with room enough to stand up, and an electric flushing toilet. The heightened headroom has been achieved by stretching the front of the centre console forward and adding a sundeck step, which also lends a sportier raked aesthetic to the overall silhouette. There are a handful of comfortable seats about the place, two primo contoured chairs with folding bolsters and, of course, plenty of wide-open deck space.

But all this counts for naught if can't charge beyond the chop to get you where you need to be. Luckily, AMM have equipped the 7000 Halo with plenty of grunt in the form of a dual-prop V6 Suzuki outboard, which plays a tune of 350 horse power to reach speeds in excess of 46 knots! It's fires are fuelled by two 300-litre underfloor tanks, giving exceptional range.

Purchasers are able to trick out the offshore vessel with a huge list of options, including dual fresh-water kill tanks, underfloor ice boxes, entertainment systems, lighting and so on. It goes without saying that however it's optioned, this Queensland-built vessel is guaranteed to make summer fishing days better by a boatload.
