2014 SCBS: Maritimo

Maritimo had six boats on display at the 2014 Sanctuary Cove Boat Show. Among them was the Maritimo S50, two Maritimo M50 models,  the award-winning Maritimo M58, and the Maritimo race boat, which in 2012 won world title at Key West in the super class.

The show also saw the world release of the Maritimo S58. In all, the Maritimo boats on display consisted a collection of flybridge models and sedans.

SHAFT-DRIVE VS POD-DRIVE

Greg Haines from Maritimo says the Maritimo motoryacht range is a little bit different to what the competition produces.

“They’re all shaft-drive boats. We’re getting better efficiency out of our shaft-drive boats than our competitors do with pods. And we don’t have the maintenance issues that they do with pods,” says Haines.

“Conventional shaftdrives on some of our boats were getting 17 per cent better efficiency than one of our competitors’ boats with pod-drives,” he says.
