NEWS: SUPERYACHT YARD’S BOOMING DEBUT

Trade-a-Boat News: The Boat Works Superyacht Yard Gains Popularity with Captians and Owners

SUPERYACHT YARD’S BOOMING DEBUT

Since opening in February 2020, the new $100-million Superyacht yard at The Boat Works, Queensland, has been attracting captains and owners with its leading facilities and services.

Its 300 tonne marine lift, known as Rhino, is the biggest on the Gold Coast and has already been put to work hauling impressive regional superyachts MY Settlement, MY Vegas and MY DeLisle III.

Now, thanks to the upgrades, vessels of up to 50m can travel throughout the superyacht marina, accessing extensive hardstand and 19 refit sheds. Practicality aside, the luxurious hospitality alone is drawing in many — with dedicated office suites, laundry facilities, tropical landscaping, lush lawns, and social hubs adding to the hospitality experience.

But it’s not just yachties themselves who are benefiting, says The Boat Works’ owner, Tony Longhurst.

“More boats equal more jobs, not just in the marine precinct, but throughout the Gold Coast in hospitality, tourism and provisioning,” he said.

Stage Two of the expansion of the Superyacht yard will commence in July, with additional retail and work spaces, tenancies and sheds being added to cater to demand.
