Pre-Loved: 2005 Maritimo M60

This is where it all began.

This M60 flybridge Motoryacht is from the original Maritimo series and the model upon which Bill Barry-Cotter established a proud legacy of building long-range, offshore, luxury vessels, right here in Australia.

Now, the term 'classic' does get thrown around an awful lot, but when your boat is judged over the following years to be a benchmark for flybridge motoryachts, then it seems fair to dub this 2005 beauty a classic on the water.

GENUINE EXPLORER

Built around a slippery variable-deadrise hull, the M60's legendary bluewater performance combines with remarkable fuel efficiency, whether you're bay-hopping or heading to the South Pacific.

The dual C18 Caterpillar diesels are located with the fuel tanks over the centre of buoyancy, and complemented by a minimal shaft angle of just 9-degrees, resulting in effortless poise and balance in any conditions.

And yes, exotic destinations can absolutely be on your radar with the M60 at your disposal. This particular vessel is more than capable of venturing into the South Pacific for destinations like Vanuatu, Noumea and New Zealand.

The twin Cats sip a respectable 9L/nm (combined) at 20 knots for a fast cruise speed on that 19m hull and at this pace, you can expect around a 650nm range from the 6500L tank.

This is aided by the solid GRP hull and 5.6m beam which provides loads of buoyancy aft to produce lower planing speeds and terrific fuel efficiency.

BEAMY CABINS

That wide beam also translates to generous spaces throughout the interior of this M60.

The cabins are spacious with a port master and ensuite, a spacious bunk room that hides a stacked washer and dryer, plus a forward double cabin with shared access to the dayhead.

Up top in the flybridge deck, the U-shaped lounge also converts to an extra bed if required.

The high-gloss teak brightwork throughout the interior still looks sensational, the carpet and lounge look near-new and the galley contains all Gaggenau appliances – which only the original M60s had.

All appliances plus the fridge/freezer, cooktop and rangehood present in excellent condition and the lower helm on starboard is designed to meet the portside lounge so guests can keep the skipper company en route to your next stop.

OUTDOOR ENTERTAINER

Stepping out through the black-framed doors to the aft cockpit, you're met with a stainless electric barbecue and fridge/freezer for alfresco entertaining made easy.

If the weather turns, this boat includes rear cockpit camper covers, and you can relax out of the sun beneath canvas awnings on the aft cockpit and flybridge decks.

At the stern, a custom hydraulic swim platform offers increased space on the standard fitout and the tender platform can be raised well above the waterline for offshore ventures.

Included with this package is a Williams 385 jet tender sitting on the rear chocks (serviced in May 2019) and this makes for an ideal inshore exploration vessel or just for zipping back and forth to shore in.

VIEW FROM ON HIGH

However, the icing on the cake for this smart M60 is that classic flybridge deck.

The skipper enjoys twin  Raymarine multifunction screens at the helm, plus fish-finder and autopilot with a single bucket helm chair for the driver and a twin chair alongside.

Teak decking is continued inside this cosy helm area and travelling in the fully enclosed flybridge is a climate-controlled treat, feeling more like a high-end apartment than an ocean-going yacht.

The large u-shaped lounge meets its own convertible table, with a further two-seater at the top of the stairwell.

Another great feature – unique to the original M60 – is the forward flybridge opening, with teak steps leading down onto the foredeck.

This makes anchoring easier than ever and also provides great airflow through the flybridge at rest – perfect if an extra guest is using the convertible bed overnight.

This is an optimum boat which has been maintained in an incredible condition and absolutely deserving of the name 'classic Maritimo'.
